Mercedes E63 AMG Remapping
Here at GAD Tuning the Mercedes E63 AMG had been at the very top of our development list due to the power trains Mercedes and AMG have been using. This means a great deal of locked potential for your E63 and E63s AMG.
One of the greatest of the AMG range for us to tune comes in the form of the W212 E63 and E63s AMG models due to the heavily restricted 5.5 Litre V8 Biturbo engine it comes equipped with in the form of the M157 engine. These came equipped with the first generation of Tricore protected ECU's Mercedes now uses as standard in the form of the Bosch MED17.7.3. This was done for a few reasons mainly being the first iteration was in the form of 525bhp, then 558bhp and finally the S with 585bhp.
The later generation found is the W213 is the M177 4.0 V8 Biturbo which was switched to mainly due to fuel efficiency needs and ever stricter emissions targets. With the latest ECU in the architecture range in the form of the Bosch MED17.7.5.
The advantages for us as a custom remapping company means we have direct control over air in the combustion cycle which means massive improvements in horse power and torque. After hundreds of hours data logging, dynoing and road testing we have perfected the calibration upgrades for all variations. They are heavily throttle and torque limited from factory which means lots of untapped potential.
With minor modifications to intake and exhaust system even more power can be achieved with the added benefit of the amazing AMG sound track.
Having such a large displacement means it generates a lot of heat so when you arrive the first thing we do while running full diagnostics to give the all clear on the calibration process is to get the Mercedes E63 and E63s AMG into the dyno cell and hit it with all the fans to eliminate as much soaked heat as we can so that we can control the temperatures from there on out.
From this the calibration process begins and we pull stock OEM data from the vehicle and start the calibration process. This can take a few hours with many calibrations and multiple sweep tests and steady state load testing to get the most from your Mercedes E63 and E63s AMG safely. Only after data logging multiple channels and analysing the data we settle on what we think is the safe power and torque output of your vehicle.
